We are from NZ and have been holidaying in the UK. This B & B is in a lovely quiet country setting but within 5 minutes walking distance of the local pub. The accommodation is excellant very tastefully furnished and comfortable and our hosts made us more than welcome. We will definately stay here next time we are in the UK and would recommend it to anyone.

We visited for two nights from Leigh on Sea Essex. We were looking for somewhere around Market Drayton but are very please we found this place instead. It is more than a B&B more like a self contained let in a converted barn annex to the main house. There is a fully fitted out kitchen with every conceivable item you are likely to require. We had the option of a cooked breakfast by the Sally the owner or to self cater. The kitchen had been fully supplied with a fresh loaf, milk, fruit juice, butter and a selection of yogurts. The cupboards had a choice of instant or ground coffee and tea including a jar of biscuits, also provided was a selection of home made jams. We arrived to a friendly welcome and home made cake.
The lounge was well decorated with comfortable furniture TV and a selection of books and magazines including pamphlets of local interest. Stairs led from the lounge to the bedroom above which was large and tastefully decorated. The bed was enormous and comfortable. Off the bedroom was a large en-suite with a roomy shower.
The whole place was clean comfortable and tastefully decorated and I would have no hesitation to recommend staying here if you are in the area.

We stayed at Sally and Mark's B&B in October and have to say that it was beautiful!
There is no need to look any further for a place to stay - it is perfect.

We stayed after visiting my mother to reduce the drive home. Whilst we would have settled for a good night's sleep we got far more. The whole experience was positive in the extreme and we were rather sad to leave after just one night. We shall certainly book again.

We stayed overnight so as to be close to a wedding venue the following day. The facilities were, in all honesty, faultless and the friendly welcome and little touches around the rooms made for a perfect stop over.
I would definitely stop here again and have no hesitancy in recommending it to all and sundry.

I brought my daughter back to the UK from Alabama to visit family. My uncle lives only a mile from this B&B.My daughter had the opportunity to experience the Midlands and farmlife as I did growing up. Sally and Mark are fantastic hosts. Every day I was surprised with fresh flowers, fresh granary bread, fresh farm eggs, jams etc. If I could have stayed longer I would have. Anyone wanting to experience the real England needs to stay here and visit the quaint local villages and really get to know England and it's wonderful people. Thanks again Sally and Mark for making our trip magical!!

We would highly recommend staying here. We stayed here 20-23 December 2014 - Sally and Mark could not have been more accommodating. The mews was delightful - spotless, beautifully decorated, warm and comfortable. We were greeted with a welcome pack of goodies - homemade jams, wholegrain bread, fruit, yoghurts, milk, tea (inc herbal),coffee and toiletries in the fabulous shower room. There are books, maps, guides in the comfortable sitting room. We were attending a wedding locally and were able to come and go as we pleased without disturbing anyone as the mews has its own door/access. Perfect for anyone walking, cycling, touring etc as it is very rural. There is a washing machine in the very well equipped kitchen - even clingfilm for the all important sangers! Nothing was too much trouble - even sorting a wardrobe malfunction / shortage! Thank you for making our visit so special. H

Dear Sally and Mark
Just a brief and very belated note to say how much we enjoyed our short stay at 'The Hawthorns.' Thank you very much for the wonderful accommodation.
We thoroughly enjoyed our fortnight in the Lake District and felt considerably fitter on our return after all the excellent walks!
Thanks again for a great start to our trip.
Best regards

What a fantastic find, a self contained unit with lounge, kitchen and a huge bedroom with a massive bed and wonderful en-suite. The owners were very welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful and the place was immaculate. With great views and a peaceful location I cannot fault this place. I can't wait to return next month. Thanks Sally and Mark for a fabulous stay. Stayed September 2015, travelled solo

This place is really super in every way. I had to stay in the area to help family and I could not have asked for a warmer welcome - it really was just like I had gone to stay with family. The lovely couple took time to chat to me and were so, so helpful and offered help and support... More

Only a stop over but wished it could have been longer. Welcoming and first class in every way and not often you can say that! Experience it, you wont be disappointed.
